There have been a lot of rumors going around. The Olney Creek claim is, yes, once again now public land. The BLM was very sure that this property could be claimed, after many phone calls and a request for the deed we decided to put in a notice of location ,because if they were telling us that they are sure to tell other people and we did not want to get locked out after 2 years.

A deed was shown to the us recently and it seems it cannot be claimed. Dnr and Wheyerhauser seem both to have deeds, and the BLM still says 2 out of 3 calls that it can be claimed. This has happened before and seems to happen every few or so years. But, It’s okay!

It is open for prospecting and business as usual. We cannot keep it for ourselves, is the only downfall. Please remain respectful and clean up after yourselves and let’s keep it open for everyone. Good gold to be found.

Remember all of our property in Liberty is CLAIMED and private to only our ACTIVE club members. Some of the properties we use however, are open public land, so let’s keep all of it open and remember to follow the fish and gold book guidelines. Fill in your holes and clean up your messes and enjoy being part of this club!

Thank you all 60 + members for attending our annual Christmas party! We had a wonderful array of holiday goodies and sides.

Our gift exchange was very funny and we all had a lot of laughs and holiday spirit around.

We have changed the original October outing upon demand for an outdoor day. This is a once in a life time opportunity to go to Olney Creek with experienced prospector and our very own GM, Mike Gordon. Mike & staff, will give you the knowledge, secret tips, tools, and information about prospecting that he has learned throughout the 30 plus years he has been a successful prospector.

Mike will give you the information for you to find your very own gold. How to and where to tips, etc. We will also be handing out goody baskets to each child that comes into the store all day. Happy Halloween!

Dredge season closes on Williams Creek and the Swauk Sept 30th. We need volunteers the following Monday Oct 3rd, to help with the reclamation. Please call the store to sign up as helpers for this. This is reclaiming the property to it's original state, filling in holes etc. Much appreciated!

Fall is a beautiful time, especially at this claim. At the Dancing Leprechaun, you will see lots of mountains, maybe some mountain goats, fall colors, beautiful scenery, great hiking, etc., while we prospect for gold. This is a hand sluice & panning only claim. It will a camp out weekend as well, so bring plenty & supplies. Prospectors Plus staff & Chris & Michele, owners, & other volunteers will be there Saturday & Sunday to help and assist, BBQ & potluck on Saturday-we are sure to have a lot of fun!

This is a weekend of fun and education. The Washington Prospectors, Prospectors Plus, & The Resource Coalition will be some attending, with a variety of state representatives and legislators, for a "front line" weekend.

It is to be a rally of all the miners of the state, converging in one place for a weekend of fun. The dates are August 26 thru 28. The 26th is reserved for members of state agencies being allowed to get their hands on the equipment and operating it. Hopefully some legislators will too.

There will be horseshoes, a panning contest, potluck dinner @5pm, a seminar on gun safety and mining history. Also Minelab will be there representing for PP, the metal detecting hunt at sunset on Saturday. Lots of fun!

Sunday, more panning, equipment demonstrations, horseshoe contests, gun safety, dive safety and geology seminars, and a raffle for great prizes. This will be a great fun-filled and informative weekend you won't want to miss.

Camping will be on the #7 claim, or any of the PP claims if prefered. Don't forget to bring your pot luck food to share for Saturday and your camping gear.

We will be also giving the claims tour this weekend. We will be showing members by caravan, the Liberty claims borders & boundaries.

We will meet at the Liberty Cafe parking lot at 7am Saturday, (off Hwy 97), and then about 9am, off to the mines! Bring your hard hats & flash lights if you have em'!

All weekend, we will tour several hardrock mines throughout Liberty. Several of these mines are running commercially. So this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to ask questions, see the inside of the mines, take samples (ask first), see the gold ore veins. We will be visiting several of our own mines, including Cody's Dream as well and other famous areas and famous mines. Please do respect miners property on this event. This is a camp out weekend, so bring plenty of gear & food. Bring your metal detectors too!

MineLab USA, metal detectors, is coming this Saturday to train and welcome Prospectors Plus as one of their Washington dealers.

Our staff will all be attending the training and informational seminar, this Saturday at 11 am at Alfy's Pizza in Monroe. Alfy's is located off Hwy 2, 19480 SR 2. 360-794-7775.

Im light of May's great turn out, we were overpouring out the door as it was standing room only at Sahara Pizza.

May 14-15, Hot dog/Prospecting Outing-On Saturday May 14th. We will meet at the Gold Bar store at 9am, consume coffee & donuts until 10am, at which time we will depart for the claim. We will prospect until 2pm and then off to the shop again for a member hot dog BBQ! You are always welcome to continue prospecting after the BBQ.

You are invited to bring additional dishes or snacks and your own beverages.

Sunday, May 15th, we will repeat this prospecting weekend in properties in Index at some of our private claims.Pray for fair weather! This should be a fun weekend!

Meet at 8am at the #7 claim, in Liberty. Join the common operation led by Prospectors Plus Chapter President, Larry Nye, or strike out on your own adventure. Bring your camping gear, campers, Rv's and your own grub and drinks, as this is the first two day dig of the year. Remember, as a reminder, any solo operations, you will have to use electric pumps (battery operated) or hand sluices and all rules from the Washington State Gold & Fish Book will have to be followed as usual. This should be a great time and hopefully fair weather!

Same weekend as the Liberty high banking outing, we will be at the Chelan County Fairgrounds (Now the Expo Center), in Cashmere at the 2011 NCWP Gold & Treasure Show. We will be selling our very own Prospectors Plus line of sluices, high bankers and dredges at show prices, and introducing our very own and brand new finishers! Please come down and support the show and see some great stuff!

It's the first Wednesday of the month, so meet at 7pm, for the monthly meeting at Sahara Pizza in Sultan, off Hwy 2. Members will meet at the Olney Creek bridge at 9am and will spread out up and down the claim. Prospectors Plus owner Chris Brawn and Club President Larry Nye, along with other volunteers, will work one-on-one with people to help them learn how to set up and run a sluice box properly. Ensure to bring boots, buckets, shovels, gloves and your trusty sluice box. Having a stand for your sluice box will make things much easier and faster. Don’t forget your sack lunch as this will be an all-day outing.

The WPMA Gold & Treasure Show runs Feburary 26th and 27th with gates opening at 9am, closing at 4pm.

The 2011 Super Bowl XLV is scheduled to be played on February 6, at Cowboys Stadium, in Arlington, Texas. This Prospectors Plus member event will be held at the home of our very special members, Pat and Sheila's in Sultan. Kickoff at 3pm. This is a potluck event. Yet another successful Prospectors Plus event. About 1pm at the Gold Bar stores "clubhouse", about 30 members joined in at the speed panning competition. Laren, our loyal friend and Prospectors Plus icon, a active member of the Resource Coalition as well, stop and started his stopwatch as members panned for the pot of about $160. From 1 to 4:30, they panned their hearts out. The winner was our very own Alsakan Dredger, Dave Kjorsvik. Congratualtions Dave! Thanks again all who helped and came- it was a busy and fun day!

Fishing and prospecting go hand in hand. We love both! Join Larry and the gang at the new shop in Goldbar for the second seminar in the Know How Series (KHS). This seminar is focused on how to become a seasoned steelhead fisherman! As Larry puts it, people are way too satisfied getting just one or two steelhead a season.

The seminar will start at 1pm on Saturday December 18th and cover topics such as gear selection, tip and tactics, planning and of course species identification and the like.

Warning - those sitting in the first two row may get wet.

To bring a great year of prospecting to a close, join us in celebrating the holidays with friends both new and old.

On December 11th, at the New Goldbar store at 1 pm we will be holding a Christmas party for our members with Santa Chris and his elf helper Cody on hand to ensure everyone has fun.

To participate in the white elephant gift exchange, please bring a wrapped gift (limited to $5) to put into Santa Chris’ bag. During the festivities, those who brought gifts will be given a gift back from Santa. A Yankee Auction may ensue. It should be a hoot!

Join us in the new Goldbar shop for the first lecture in our Know How Series (KHS). This lecture is focused on how to cleanup you concentrates from start to finish, sponsored by our very own Larry Nye. Larry is known as Mr. Clean at the shop because nobody can use the cleanup gear like him.

Join Larry and the gang at 1pm on Saturday December 4th. This is a hands-on event, so members are encouraged to bring some concentrates that they would like to run.

Warning - this lecture will be video taped for publishing to our YouTube Channel, so if you are wanted by the law and are on the lamb, wear a mask.

Come join us in our brand new Goldbar store and take advantage of our hot Reopening Sale. With the huge move, Chris wants to clear out some inventory and Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving) is a great day to do it.

In the new Goldbar store, around the new fireplace, about 50 members enjoyed fellow prospectors and great food. Chris fried up three turkeys and they all went fast! Thank you Mike Gordon for one of the turkeys he donated, and thank you all members for coming to celebrate and support us. And thank you for bringing such yummy goodies! We had a lot of fun and are looking forward to the next get together! Hopefully we see some of you on our grand re-opening 11-26! We have a great family here together, don't we? :)

In September, Prospectors Plus opened 3 miles of Olney Creek for our members to enjoy. To help ensure that all our members can enjoy easy access to this new claim, we are asking for volunteers to help clean up and maintaining the trails.

Volunteers are asked to meet at the Sultan shop at 9am on Saturday, November 13th. After coffee and doughnuts, we will caravan out to the work areas and work through 1pm. After quitting-time, members are encouraged to enjoy prospecting Olney Creek.

The November Resources Coalition Meeting will be held at the Sultan FOE (the same place Prospectors Plus Hootenannys are held) on November 6th, starting at 4:30 PM. Dinner is at 6PM.

For those members not familiar with the Resources Coalition, they are a non-profit education and advocacy group whose mission is to bring about a consensus on the usage of public land through education and respect for private property without endangering the basic freedoms of our country. The Resources Coalition strives to protect the have the right to "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" as part of our heritage and access to a variety of usages on private and public lands is part of this right.

Prospectors Plus partners and supports the work of the Resources Coalition and encourage all our members to do the same. You can read more about their work on their website.

Did you know that in the State of Washington, you can use your highbanker powered by an electric pump year-around? To demonstrate how effective this prospecting setup can still be, Prospectors Plus is sponsoring the Liberty ‘Electric’ Highbanking Outing.

The outing will be held at the #7 claim in Liberty. A grand barbeque lunch will be put on by our very own Chapter Presidents, Laren Monson & Larry Nye – so bring your appetite. Please bring your drinks and side dishes to share. The club will be bringing several highbanker setups, but if you have your own equipment, please bring it along.

As Fall is coming on fast, this will be a weather-dependent outing. In other words, if there is 3 feet of snow – consider this postponed. All members are encouraged to check our website for the latest updates on this event.

As if that ain't enough to get yeah excited, there will also be drawings for small door prizes (pans, snuffer bottles, ore bags and the like) throughout the night. Come on out and get reacquainted with your friends!

The hall’s kitchen will be open prior and during the meeting to rustle up some burgers for the masses (discounted for active FOE members).

Dredging is one of the most effective and profitable methods of prospecting a river, but many new prospectors shy away from the larger equipment, cost and noise. To help get yeah over the hump, Prospectors Plus sponsors an open event to give members the opportunity to learn dredging from some of our most seasoned dredgers right on Williams Creek in a safe family-friendly environment. This is a hands-on event, so bring your rubber boots!

Never been at the end of a nozzle? Thinking of dredging and wanna figure it all out before making that big purchase? Have a dredge and wanna knock the rust off for the season and hang out with friends? If you answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, you’ll wanna make sure to come to the 2010 Liberty Dredge camp held on the CMC #7 claim.

This year’s camp is being hosted by the Eastern Washington Chapter President, Larry Nye on the 28th and 29th of August. This is a camping event, but please feel free to drop in for the day to get in on all the fun. There will be a pot-luck dinner on the evening of the 28th, so bring food to share.
