Hi everyone! Were back from our road trip to Placerville California and Reno Nevada, gold shows. We had a great expereince and had some fun, found some gold and sold some equipment! All in all, had a good time but always good to be home!

Lots of stuff happening so here it is:

Cody, Chris & Pat at Bear River, California

  • The store will be closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday, for the weekend of our summer kick off outing in Liberty June 8-9th & 10th. This will be a great experience, so pray for decent weather! Should be lots of excitement and fun.
  • We will be planning an outing next year in May to Bear creek campground in California. Lots of gold!
  • You must go to Virginia City if your ever in the Reno Nevada area. This town is a blast from the past and very historic. This western town has gold panning booths, mine tours, people dressed in period garb, old saloons, tons of stores and specialty shops like "Sawdust Trails", food, & a great huge cemetery. Billy the Kid, Doc Holiday & Wyatt Earp are some of the historic folks who rode their horses into town.
  • Please respect and stay away from all of our and other commercial mines in Liberty. These are extremely dangerous and private property. We have survellance at our properties and a person to marshall the area, for our safety and yours.
  • If you are interested in the MSHA, miners safety class, please call the store. It costs about $80 per person and the certification lasts up to 5 years, covers uderground and surface mining. There is a large mining operation in Alaska that are needing certified people for help.
  • If you are wanting to work outside the gold & fish book regs, please submit your JARPA prior to June 1st. This means if you want to work a river that does not allow dredgeing, etc, submit a JARPA to allow yourself special opportunity for this.
  • Panning classes are being scheduled now. These 4 hr, one on one classes are fun, & informative. Learn how to set up your sluice correctly and pan like a pro, and find some yellow metal while your at it!
  • Our sunset metal detecting hunt for the June 9th-10th, outing, kick off in Liberty has been postponed. Still bring them- lots of tailing piles to detect.
  • Cody Brawn, our famous mini-miner!

    • Our new Brawn premier 2 in 1 pan was a hot seller! All the championship speed panners at the Mining Journal's gold show in Placerville, CA., bought them! They were a huge success!
    • We have our Prospectors Plus stainless steel mini-sluice bottle opener/key chain now for sale. Engraved with Prospectors Plus and BRAWN on the back...these were very popular gold shows!
