It was a beautiful weekend. Saturday we started about 10 am gathering up at the campground area with first a rememberance of the passing of our longtime member,freind and prospector, John Nelson. Thanks to Jerry for such a nice speech. We wish his wife Dawn, blessings and our condolences and for her health to repair as well.

We had a great time. Thank you all who showed up, about 70 folks, Saturday and Sunday, streaming in and out. Rob gave mine tours of his placer operation and people panned for gold. We also had dredges of all sizes lined up and down all our claims. There was some really nice wire gold found and people had a great time. (please send pics to me if you can). Chris, Todd and Dave ran up and down the claims making sure folks were ok, Pat helped folks on dredges and helped and assisted folks all weekend.
We BBQ'd hot dogs Sunday at noon- thank you for those who brought sides to share. All in all, it was yet another great weekend! PS: Look at the video on Prospectors Plus Facebook page for more videos,etc and you-tube.

Posted on Jul 26, 2012 21:16 PMThanks to Michele, Chris, and everyone else involved in the planning and organization of another great outing. Chris shared some info with me about several of the claims that was invaluable. Sunday I worked some bedrock cracks on Hurley and was able to find a few colors. Nothing like I hoped for, but enough to make me want to go back.
I shot a short bit of Neil's dredging demo on Saturday. Thanks for sharing your experience and expertise, Neil. The video is on You Tube titled "Liberty, WA Prospecting Trip and Dredging Demo". Sorry I was not able to post a link here. Just do a search for the title and it should pop up.
