The Prospector's Plus Mining Club Forums have been up and running for almost 3 days now and besides Michele, no one has posted anything. I've seen lots of lurkers out there reading and searching - but no posters. So, I have a challenge for yeah.

We have enabled online discounts for all members making purchases on line. That's right, the same 10% discount that you recieve purchasing items in the Sultan shop are available right here online. In order to activate you membership benifits, follow the instructions located on the Activate Online Membership link under the membership tab at the top of the page.

It was recently brought to Prospectors Plus’ attention that mining residency rights long exercised by prospectors across the Western states are aggressively and unashamedly being challenged by the US Forest Service in Oregon State. Long-time prospectors Michael and Linda Backlund with no previous notice of failure by the Forest Service were forced to plead guilty to the charge of maintaining a residence on Forest Service land without authorization “when such authorization is required.” Through the narrowest possible interpretation of language, the refusal of expert testimony on behalf of the plaintiffs by Mr. Tom Kitchar, President of the Waldo Mining District and the decision by the court to disallow the admission of the long list of Forest Service regulatory abuses against the Backlunds, the US Forest Service and the courts have new ammunition in the fight to shut down small-scale mining.

In an effort to give our members more opportunites to share, educate and interact with eachother - we have launched an online forum right here at Prospectors Plus. Forums let you ask questions and get answers. Forums allow you to post pictures and comment on others. Forums all you to share your experiances with others or learn from others.

Well, I realize that we have been promising to enable online sales for quite some time now and I am pleased as punch to announce that as of 6pm tonight, our online catalog is live, available and ready for all your shopping pleasure. Over the next several weeks we will be adding more prospecting equipment, tools club gear - so check back often. Well, if you missed the Prospectors Plus Member’s Dredge Camp 2010 – you really missed out. What a blast! There were more than 40 members able to attend during the weekend outing, running about a dozen or so dredges (including Doug’s 4-inch monster) right on the #7 claim on Williams Creek. In addition to the mountains of great food put on by our very own master chef Laren, there was loads of different equipment for people to try their hand at (like the new Gold Grabber II) and many new friends to meet. It was a fantastic first ‘big’ event for our club!
