Panning Classes September 8

Saturday Sept 8th, we will meet at 9 to 10am at the Gold Bar store to head to the creek with our geologist/guide and learn the basics of gold panning. Master the gold panning technique and learn what to look for and more. Panning correctly and knowing what indicators to look for is very important in finding and securing your gold! It should be a beautiful day, so gear up and come in before 10am, or better yet, call the store and reserve your spot. $25.00 for 4 hrs per adult, under 12 yrs-FREE! Class space fills quickly

Spreading gold fever

This last Thursday, Chris and I took a break from helping with the wildfires in Cle Elum, to give the kids at Gold Bar's Mountain Valley Chapel's vacation bible study a free lesson in gold panning. All the kids, pastor and staff included enjoyed the event. Kids were fighting over the pan! I think gold fever has spread throughout this little church community!

Miners Rally Liberty

The annual resources coalition miners rally is going to be held once again in Liberty; August 24 through 26. This event will be hosted by the resource coalition. Vendors, games and information on gold resources, clubs, and on hands training. This event is free to the public as well. Educational presentations and lectures, observe placer claim operations, prospecting clubs, and mining equipment, on-site food available, raffle and metal detecting night hunt and more. Always a great event and lots to see & do. Come support this fantastic organization who help fight for our mining rights. Lots of press & media usually attend. Last year CNN's own Patrick Oppman attended and interviewed folks. Pretty cool!

Cle Elum and Liberty Area Forest Fires

Please stay away this week from the Cle Elum and Liberty areas. There are lots of forest fires and getting close to the Liberty area. The Kittitas Valley fire dept and the DNR and other resources are working hard trying to contain the areas, but the fires are still not under control and moving too close for comfort and fast due to winds etc. Please pray for the safety of the crews, Chris included. He is helping try and contain and keep the area safe with the fire dept as well.

Dancing Leprechaun Weekend Photos and Overview

The Dancing Leprechaun is one of the most scenic areas. The views are breathtaking and the gold is good. Saturday we had a BBQ with lots of goodies. Chris BBQ'd dogs and chili and cheese nachos, folks brought lots to share! Thank you for our friends that came it was great to get some one on one time with all of you.
